I like to write about people, the places they live and the things with which they choose to surround themselves. Here are some of my favorite pieces that made it into Article.

Headed to NYC: SCBWI Conference & Portfolio Showcase

I’m heading to New York City for the upcoming SCBWI Conference, and I couldn’t be more excited.

This year feels especially meaningful because I’ll be sharing my work in the Portfolio Showcase—a long-held goal and a big moment of both vulnerability and celebration. SCBWI conferences are such powerful spaces for learning, connection, and creative momentum, and I’m looking forward to soaking it all in: the art, the conversations, the inspiration, and the community. I’m so excited to finally be attending one!

If you’ll be there too, I’d love to connect. And if you’re following along from afar, I’ll be sharing bits of the experience on social media and what it sparks for me creatively. Here’s to showing up, putting our work out into the world, and continuing to tell stories that matter.

NYC, here I come.

Welcome to My New Illustration Home

Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here.

This new site is a home for my illustration work, with a special focus on nonfiction picture books. I’m deeply inspired by projects like my work on I Am the Thirsty Desert and hope to continue creating books that blend art, science, and story to spark curiosity about the natural world. I’m especially drawn to true stories that feel a little bit magical at first glance, but are firmly rooted in real phenomena.

That said, I’m always open to a range of illustration projects, and I’m also nurturing several of my own nonfiction book ideas that I’m excited to bring into the world.

At the heart of my work is a belief that helping young people feel a sense of belonging—to one another and to the living world around them—is more important than ever. I want to inspire fascination, wonder, and curiosity. I want kids to see that they aren’t just connected to nature—they are a part of it. And through that understanding, I hope to help foster care, stewardship, and responsibility for the world we share.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you’ll linger, explore, and maybe even imagine something new alongside me.
